2020 has been an unprecedented year which affected most of the sectors of the society; education being one of them. Students across the country were losing valuable time for learning as a result of the lockdown. Foreseeing the consequences, we, at TMS-Surat, took proactive measures to avoid that loss of time for teaching-&-learning, and commenced with Virtual Classes for the seniors students, prior to the nationwide lockdown, being the pioneer in Surat, to do so. This model was gradually adopted for our younger students within a few days of the first phase of the nationwide lockdown.
Over the course of the lockdown, many of our processes and activities were moved online. Right from online classes, to online assessments followed by virtual parent-teacher-meetings (PTMs). Almost all school activities were organized virtually, for the Academic Year 2020-21.
Our transition to a virtual model was expedited with the collaborative efforts of the Research & Development (R&D) Team at Millennium Education Management (MEMPL), Delhi and able support of our staff, parents and students. Hence, we consider this pandemic a catalyst for positive and progressive change since it has helped all our stakeholders in integrating the developments of the digital world with our already robust learning system - Millennium Learning System (MLS).
This blended learning approach for a Virtual School earned us the Gujarat’s #1 in ‘Excellence in Blended Learning’ Award by the very prestigious Education World Grand Jury Awards 2020-21!
